Prayers don't have to be long. Prayer is really about having a conversation.
• Sometimes a really short prayer to God can make all the difference to your situation. Maybe you've just woken up and you feel really rubbish.
"God as I open my eyes to the world, please open my eyes to what you want me to do in it today!"
Try this as a short morning prayer tomorrow and see where it leads you.
• Short prayers can be useful in times of stress or crisis in the day. "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10, WEB) - this is the other side of the conversation - God speaking to us. Try committing these words to memory and repeating them when you find yourself in the storms of life.
• at nightfall, you may only have time for a quick evening prayer before bed. Think for a moment about your day and think of one thing you would like to thank God for. For example - "Lord, thank you for my home. I am so grateful, Amen". Filling our minds with thankfulness helps to dispel fear and anxiety, and leads to much sounder sleep
