Classe. J'en veux.
site : http://www.melissa.com.br/en/

Vous pouvez en trouver sur des sites comme sarenza, spartoo, ebay etc...

Where to Buy Vegan/Vegetarian Shoes
Nov 22, 2010 Lindsay Withers

Find Affordable Vegan/Vegetarian Shoes - Tom Harpel (wikimedia commons)Vegan shoes do not contain any animal products and often are considered cruelty-free. Learn where to buy vegan shoes, no matter one's budget or taste.

While a lot of vegetarians may wear shoes made with animal products, many vegetarians and most vegans will not wear shoes that contain any animal products or come from organizations not considered to be cruelty-free and/or fair-trade. When shopping for vegan shoes, the ingredients for which to watch out are leather (including suede), silk, hair/fur (including wool and cashmere), down, and some glues that contain animal products.

Fortunately, today's land of vegan or vegetarian shoes is quite accessible (particularly through the internet), full of fashionable options, and contains completely vegan brands, brands with vegan options, stores offering all vegan shoes, and stores that have multiple vegan options. Many vegan shoe options vary in price, so this article lists a range of places (including online) and brands from which a shopper can browse.

Stores With Vegan or Vegetarian Shoe Options
Many well-known shoe retailers offer vegan (look for only 'synthetic' or 'man-made' materials, though keep in mind that seeing these labels may not mean a shoe is completely vegan or cruelty-free) options; some well-known stores with affordable prices are listed below.

Online Shoe Stores with all Vegan Products

•Alternative Outfitters Vegan Boutique (has a large selection of vegan shoes and many sale items)
•Moo Shoes (has a large and more high-end/expensive selection of vegan shoes)
•Vegan Chic (has a large selection of fashionable vegan shoes, including women's boots)
Brands with Vegan Shoe Options
Many popular shoe brands offer a full collection of vegan shoes; see below for five such brands.

Non-Leather Wedding Shoes
November 8th, 2006 @ 11:34 am by Mrs. Bluebell
Share As a vegetarian who doesn’t wear leather, I occasionally have trouble finding nice shoes. But Payless always has a plentiful (& cheap!) supply, and I can turn to MooShoes for dress shoes or boots or if I want something higher quality. However, MooShoes doesn’t stock any wedding shoes - what’s a non-leather-wearing girl to do!?!

My first solution was to purchase some gold sandals from Ann Taylor Loft (most of their shoes are leather, but not all) - which is what I may end up wearing.

But…then I see all the wedding shoes…and I can’t help but wonder if I might want REAL wedding shoes for this one time in my life when I can actually get away with white satin. To that end, I asked Erica Kubersky, the extremely helpful co-founder of MooShoes if she had any ideas, and she sent me a long email with some links and ideas!

My favorites are:

Beyond Skin will make any of their many styles in the fabric of your choice as a wedding shoe, starting at 240 British Pounds. Many of their other shoes also come in colors like Blonde and Pewter that you could use as wedding shoes, although (most of) their standards don’t come in white or ivory.

My all time favorite from Beyond Skin is the Anna, which comes in all sorts of gorgeous fabrics, like white or champagne damask, cream lace, or white or gold embroidered flowers.

They also have more traditional options like the Iona, in the same above fabrics.

Miss Lily also found these great d’Orsay pump from Vegetarian Shoes & Bags which are totally my front runner for the straight-up “wedding-shoe” category!

And if anyone else is searching, one nifty feature I discovered recently is that Zappos lets you search for vegetarian shoes on their site! None of their wedding-ish shoes were calling out to me at the moment, but that’s definitely a resource worth keeping in mind!

Does anyone else have any good non-leather shoe recommendations?

If you've ever tried to find non-leather footwear, you already know how difficult it can be. Fortunately, there are more options than ever in man-made materials for shoes. Thanks to the web, they're readily accessible.

The sites below carry vegan and vegetarian shoes, ranging from made-to-order styles to famous brands that offer vegetarian footwear.
Endless.com
Featuring vegetarian and vegan styles from several popular brands, including Te Cesan, Chinese Laundry, Madden Girl, etc., Endless.com is a great place to shop for man-made footwear -- as well as every other kind of footwear. With all items shipping for free (and most items available for free overnight shipping), I love shopping on this site.
BeyondSkin.co.uk
Offering designer cruelty-free footwear, this site features some of the most amazing shoes I've ever seen. With styles suited to a variety of wardrobes and occasions, I'm particularly impressed with their boots, wedding shoes, and their luxury line: Sui Generis, which is made from gorgeous vintage fabrics. The shoes on this site are made to order, and can be shipped world-wide. Manufacturer's Site
Vegetarian-Shoes
Carries men's and women's vegetarian shoes and boots, including dress, casual and athletic styles - all with lots of urban flair and contemporary styling. This UK-based shop accepts online orders and also carries vegetarian jackets, belts and gloves. Vendor's Site
VeganWares
Based in Australia, VeganWares has a good selection of shoes, boots and sandals for men, women and toddlers. They also offer extremely cool wallets, and a couple of really nice-looking bags. But my favorite thing about this site is that they will make footwear made to order. Special widths, different colors and toe shapes, and even shoes modelled after your special style are available by contacting them. Manufacturer's Site
Zappos
While Zappos.com is not devoted entirely to non-leather products, as the web's most popular shoe store, they have a huge selection, and were wise enough to include a guide for consumers seeking vegetarian footwear. Included are men's and women's casual, dress and athletic shoes. This is also nice because it helps to identify easily found brands that include vegetarian items among their product lines. Buy Direct
Moo Shoes
With loads vegan men's and women's footwear, Moo Shoes is based in New York City, and also offers online sales. In addition to all the cute and cool shoes, this vegan shop also sells cruelty-free bags, belts, wallets and cosmetics. Vendor's Site
Ethical Wares
Based in Wales, UK, Ethical Wares will ship worldwide, and not only sells vegan footwear, but also cruelty-free cool bags and other products. Vendor's Site
Vegan Chic
Lots of stuff here that I haven't seen elsewhere, including "ugg-style" boots, and some really pretty evening shoes. Also selling bags and a few cool belts, this site has a much selection for women than it does for men. Vendor's Site

May 18, 2009

As a proud vegan who is usually spotted rocking skin tight vinyl and 6 inch pleather heels, Leah Ludlow is on a mission to turn being animal-friendly into a cool as well as compassionate stance.

1. Decide your personal style, then make it vegan
Too many people automatically think that by being vegan they are limiting what they wear. This shouldn't be the case. Whatever you're into, you should stay true to personal style, and work being vegan into it.

2. Don't assume wearing vegan clothing is going to be a chore
When I started out, I spent so much time thinking what I couldn't have, I forgot about all the cool stuff I could still wear. Denim hotpants? Lace minidress? Comfy cardie? As long as there's no fur, leather, wool, silk, or angora (rabbit fur) it's all good!

3. Try cheaper shops
Don't grimace. We're not about being label snobs on here after all, are we? Many cheap shops are cheaper precisely because they don't use animal products. Leather is frequently substituted for PU, wool for acrylic, and satin for silk, so chances are you can go to your favourite bargain hunting base and still buy what you like.

4. Accessorise creatively
Being animal products, feathers and pearls are also off the menu. But with so many fake feathers and pearls available, if you see something you like, try re-creating it using the ethical alternatives.

5. Shop alternative
Alternative shops are great for leather alternatives. Don't be put off by 'fetish wear' stores; lots of them have vinyl, PVC and pleather trousers that look great and are a good substitute for real leather. (Also, most of these type of stores stock plus-size in said garments.)

6. Not sure if they really are vegan shoes/clothing? Always read the label
Don't discard something before you've checked the label. I recently nearly missed some gorgeous fake leather boots because I thought they were real - but now I have a great pair of boots and got a bargain, too!

7. Pleather? Man-made? Know what the terms are
If you're shopping for vegan boots, shoes or fashion, look for descriptions like 'faux' (as in 'faux suede, faux fur'), pleather and man-made - this means they've got the animal look without animals being involved.

8. Don't be afraid to tell people you're (and your outfit is) vegan
Firstly, you should be proud to be making a compassionate ethical stance. Secondly, when people realise you can look so good whilst rocking some ethics, they will instantly be impressed. I've lost count of the number of people who have reconsidered their view of vegans when they've appreciated my outfit then found out that it's animal friendly!

If you have a personal style and want to go fully vegan (in what you wear as well as what you eat), give it a go. I bet your style will adapt to it just fine.

For you Goth Vegans
Now, maybe back in my college days this site would have been personally useful, but I fear I no longer am looking for the Doc Marten concept taken to the ultimate, fantasy-driven max. Pennangalan carries an entire line of vegan goth shoes and boots, where you can indulge your fancy without so much as a drop of non-vegan glue.

I know I'm a bit obsessed with vegan shoes. My excuse is that I sold shoes throughout college, so I used to be quite the shoe aficionado, owning dozens of pairs. I often say it was much harder giving up leather shoes than eating meat.

So I'm merely doing my civic duty and bringing you all the vegan shoe options I find.

I know this isn't a vegan shoe blog, but...
I'm totally obsessed with shoes, what can I do? It all started in college when I sold shoes part-time for three years. That was pre-veg days, so I had shoes in every material...cruel and cruelty-free.

A few years later when I went vegetarian I also phased out leather and suede (and even wool and silk) even though it would be many years before I became a vegan on the inside.

I often said: It's harder to give up leather shoes than eating meat.

Not so much because of function, but because of lack of stylish selection. Payless Shoe Source was the place to go, and they didn't have the cute eco-styles they have now.

now there are more and more places to find cute vegan shoes, and the latest I found via this post from a blog on KABC-LA's site.

It's a store called olsenHaus, and they wear their eco-philosophies on their sleeve! Vegan, eco-friendly materials, fair-trade practices, philanthropic initiatives...it's all there. They also have a space on their site for the harder truths about the use of animals. Not a pleasant page, I warn you.

But the proof is in the pudding or, in this case, the stylish vegan shoes. So, check out their collection. What caught my eye? How about this beauty:

Because I am all about the shoes
I now point you to two cute new eco-friendly, vegan finds in the shoe department:

1. Payless has finally launched their zoe & zac line of eco-friendly shoes. Not a ton of selection yet, but who can argue with a purple espadrille?

2. I love HydraHeart, a vegan, organic, hand-made line of shoes found on Etsy.

I may pick up a pair of these Mary Janes:

Let your feet go vegan with uber-green Olsen Haus shoes
April 30th, 2009 By Melissa Segrest
Green Right Now

Many people who strive to live an environmentally aware life may often find that their “green” ways end at their feet, encased in leather.

Try as you might, getting the leather out of your life can be a challenge, especially when it comes to cute boots and shoes. But the tide is shifting, and more lines of 100 percent natural, organic and free-trade footwear are available.

Olsen Haus may be the first “vegan” line of shoes. If they aren’t the first, they’ve certainly got a leg up on the competition with their collection of cute, sometimes zany shoes.

What is a vegan shoe? Not only does it not have leather, it is made with “alternative, sustainable and renewable plant-based and man-made non-animal materials.” They don’t even use wool or silk. Olsen Haus shoes have soles of rubber, and colors that are vegan via non-toxic paints.

The company’s green ways don’t stop with their shoes. They practice fair-trade, manufacture close to home, use recycled paper for shoe boxes and try to minimize shipping materials.

Enough about that: Let’s look at their shoes.

The spring collection features trendy platform shoes with high heels and peep-toes. The “Balance” shoe (above right) is made of natural linen with microfibers, with kicky neon green platforms. The “Swim” (at left) is a striking mix of stripes and bright blue – all made of faux patent .
And check out the red “Groove” booties made of Italian ultra suede splattered with paint that is tres chic (right).

Olsen Haus’ shoes range from $100 for flat gladiator sandals to $235 for the black version of the Groove booties.

Designer Elizabeth Olsen is no fashion newbie: she was creative director at Tommy Hilfiger and designed for Calvin Klein, Nine West and others.

Olsen Haus

E C O G R E E N & philanthrophy

Olsenhaus believes in accountability. The livestock/leather industry is the largest contributor to global warming, land devastation, environmental pollution, usage of valuable natural resources and water supply contamination. The leather industry is more harmful to the environment than the textiles, medicine, fertilizer, and paper industries. It is a 1.5 billion dollar industry that directly relates to abuse and death of 100 million animals from factory farms and slaughter houses.

From start to finish, the amount of energy required to create a leather hide is 20 times greater than the production of a synthetic material. The production of leather requires the transportation of feed to animals, removal of waste, electricity in housing facilities, electricity for operations and killing, pesticide use, vaccine and antibiotic use, transportation to remove carcasses and transportation of pelts.

Then transportation of the hide to a tannery which involves sorting, soaking, fleshing, tanning, wringing, drying, kicking, cleaning, trimming, buffing, drying and finishing. Lastly the hide is transported to the garment maker, then a to wholesaler, and so on. In addition, hundreds of thousands of acres of land are cleared for the raising of livestock.

It is common sense. Leather is the hide of a dead animal and intended by nature to decompose. To prevent biodegrading hides for commercial use are treated with toxic chemicals, just some of which are hexavalent chromium salts, aniline, azo dyes, lead, cyanide, formaldehyde, tannins, solvents, and chlorophenols. These chemicals pollute the land, air and water supply. Groundwater samples collected near tanneries have indicated the presence of arsenic, chromium, lead, zinc, and total organic halides. Additional pollutants include protein, hair, salt, lime, sludge, sulfides and acids.

Vegetable-tanned leather is often touted as being less harmful to the environment. However, Bill Bartholomew, a representative for The Leather Group at The World Shoes Accessories eco-Ethics Conference, admitted that “Eco-friendly" vegetable tanning is actually just as polluting as chrome tint.

Olsenhaus is vegan owned and operated. Every person eating a vegan diet saves at least an acre of trees every year.

M A T E R I A L S :

Olsenhaus uses alternative, sustainable and renewable plant-based and man-made, non-animal materials such as: ultra suede, organic cotton, canvas, nylon, velvet, linen, cork, and a synthetic eco-lining. We are 100% vegan: no leather, fur, wool or silk is ever used. Soles are a composite of rubber, glues are rubber-based and vegan, paint is vegan and non-toxic. Nothing is tested on animals. Olsenhaus continually searches for more innovative techniques and encourages our factories and suppliers to use safer processes. Synthetic and plant based materials account for far less pollution, and use only a fraction of the energy when compared to any leather. Most synthetics available today are flexible, breathable, and biodegradable. In addition, alternative materials are consistent in size, shape and thickness and therefore the entire piece is used, unlike a leather, which creates an enormous amount of waste.

M A N U F A C T U R I N G :

Olsenhaus products are manufactured as local as possible. We condense shipments into as few packages as possible to reduce our carbon footprint. In the office we use recycled papers and do as much electronically as possible. Our shoe boxes are made from recycled materials and our look books are digitally printed on recycled paper.

Olsenhaus works only with people and factories with high standards of quality, reliability and accountability. Factories are personally checked for fair trade practices, fair wages, proper facilities, ventilation, clean and comfortable working conditions, safe machinery, superior organization, it is ensured that employees are respected for their skills, there are no child –labor practices, no outsourcing to other factories or countries. We produce as local as possible in Central America.

P H I L A N T R O P H Y :

Olsenhaus believes it is very important to give back and support organizations doing investigative and educational work towards increasing public awareness in animals rights and the environment through campaign programs, legislation, activism, and educational publications. The following are organizations Olsenhaus works with participating in events, donates to, and/or is a corporate member of. We fully support all of their missions and work in the world.

PETA – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), with more than 2.0 million members and supporters, is the largest animal rights organization in the world. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry. PETA works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and protest campaigns.

Farm Sanctuary – Farm Sanctuary works to end cruelty to farm animals and promotes compassionate living through rescue, education and advocacy. We envision a world where the violence that animal agriculture inflicts upon people, animals and the environment has ended, and where instead we exercise values of compassion.

Greenpeace – Greenpeace's committed activists and supporters have come together to ban commercial whaling, convince the world’s leaders to stop nuclear testing, protect Antarctica, and so much more. Their fight to save the planet has grown more serious – the threat of global warming, destruction of ancient forests, deterioration of our oceans, and the threat of a nuclear disaster loom large.

The Theophisical Society – Encourages open-minded inquiry into world religions, philosophy, science, and the arts in order to understand the wisdom of the ages, respect the unity of all life, and help people explore spiritual self-transformation.

The Humane Society of the United States – The mission of The HSUS is to create a humane and sustainable world for all animals—a world that will also benefit people. We seek to forge a lasting and comprehensive change in human consciousness of and behavior toward all animals in order to prevent animal cruelty, exploitation, and neglect, and to protect wild habitats and the entire community of life.

Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary – Surrounded by the Catskill Mountains in the town made famous for peace and music, Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary provides shelter to cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, sheep, and goats who have been rescued from cases of abuse, neglect and abandonment. They rescue, rehabilitate and care for farm animal refugees, and educate the public about the horrific treatment of animals who are raised in large, industrial factory farm systems.
