Animals are suffering for the fur trade

https://secure.peta.org/site/Donation2?df_id=7702&7702.donation=form1&set.custom.Campaign_Code=C12FEDXXXXH&autologin=true

It's the shameful secret that those in the international fur trade do their best to hide. More than 2 million cats and dogs—this year alone—will be killed for their fur in China. Animals like the ones we share our homes with as beloved family members are being routinely abused and slaughtered for their fur. This cold fact has been witnessed repeatedly by investigators from PETA Asia and independent animal protection organizations around the world. PETA is leading the campaign against the bloody fur industry. Please support our efforts for all animals today with a special gift to bolster our lifesaving work. The animals suffering in these markets can't tell their own story, so I'll relay to you just some of what undercover investigators have documented:
Workers stuffed hundreds of terrified animals into cages to make the trip to the Chinese animal markets. No food or water was provided.

The cages were packed so full that the animals couldn't move. And dying or dead animals were packed in with the living. When they arrived at the market, the cages were tossed 10 feet from the tops of the trucks to the ground below, shattering the bones of the fearful animals inside. At the market, the killing methods used—including bludgeoning and even skinning the animals while they were still alive—shocked even the most seasoned investigators! All these horrors occur so that someone can have a fur coat or fur trim on a hat. It's outrageous and must be stopped. The skins of these animals find their way to the international clothing retail markets, including in the U.S. and Canada, and are sometimes misleadingly labeled "Asian jackal" or "rabbit."

I know that it's hard to read about this cruelty. But I want you to know how you can be a part of ending this misery—by supporting PETA's work to save these and other animals from being abused in the name of a violent, greedy industry built on suffering. Please send a special gift to help fund PETA's campaigns to stop the suffering of animals in China and around the world. We're leading eye-opening campaigns against retailers and designers who still use fur, and we've convinced many to eliminate fur and exotic skins from their collections. We hold protests to educate the media and the public about the ugly truth behind the fur industry. Of course, ending this cruel killing of animals will require a sustained and monumental effort. But we're up to the task and hope you will stand with us. With your special gift today, you'll be helping to support PETA's vital work to end the suffering and abuse of animals wherever and whenever it occurs.

Millions of individual animals—including dogs and cats just like those we share our homes with—will be killed for their fur in China this year. They suffer in cramped, filthy cages until they are bludgeoned or electrocuted. Those who don't die immediately often have their skin ripped off while they are still conscious.
Animal abuse and cruelty are not fashionable. Help us stop the trade in animal skins and make the world a more compassionate place for all animals by making a special gift right now

FUR = MURDER FOR SALE

PETITION

http://www.change.org/petitions/intermix-please-go-fur-free?utm_medium=email&utm_source=action_alert

Two friends vs Fur

Intermix is a chain of clothing stores that caters to trend-setting fashionistas across the US and Canada. But some stylish shoppers say thatIntermix is trying to make a trend out of the torture and skinning of raccoons, foxes, rabbits and even coyotes -- by selling clothes and accessories made with their fur.
Amy Rebecca and Jessica Schuler, two friends living in Los Angeles who love animals (Jessica just recently rescued a puppy from a shelter!), were just sickened to see fur coats, vests and accessories for sale at Intermix. But they love the rest of Intermix's line and actually want to be able to shop there -- so they started a petition on Change.org asking Intermix to go fur-free. Will you sign Amy and Jessica's petition asking retailer Intermix to commit to not selling fur?
It's tragic: The fur industry is inseparable from animal cruelty -- animals on fur farms spend their lives in densely crowded wire cages. Then, many are gruesomely killed (by being gassed, having their necks broken and even anal electrocution). Still others are trapped in the wild, where they suffer for hours and even days.
Amy and Jessica just want to see Intermix do the right thing. They're not full-time activists -- just two friends who want to make a difference.
And they're not alone! People in Washington DC, New York, Chicago and LA have joined their efforts and held fur-free protests in front of Intermix stores, and more than 5,000 people have signed on to their petition already.
Amy and Jessica know that Intermix will drop fur. Intermix isn't a huge chain and it's not dependent on its fur items for revenue. But it does set trends -- so a move to fur-free by Intermix will make ripples in the fashion industry. And there are strong signs the company is ready to do this -- it just needs to hear from a lot more people, first.
Click here to tell Intermix to go fur-free and stop selling clothes and accessories that kill.
Thanks for being a change-maker,
- Stephanie and the Change.org team

P.S. Thousands of people start winning petitions on Change.org every month. Here are some that you can help push over the edge:
Monique White lost her job as a counselor for troubled teens, and now she's in danger of losing her home to US Bank. Sign the petition to demand US Bank work with Monique to modify her home loan.
Alexis Lopez fled violence in Honduras to come to the US. Now his fiancee and her two young boys are fighting to stop his deportation, which could happen at any time. Sign her urgent petition now.
Photoshopped images of models are nothing new, but H&M has taken the practice a step further and started computer-animating images of perfect bodies and pasting on real models' heads. Join a group of young women calling on H&M to drop the fake bodies.
On November 30, Belarus sentenced Vladislav and Dmitry to death -- based only on confessions allegedly obtained through torture. Vladislav’s mother has started a petition to try to save her son’s life and get a real investigation into the attacks he and Dmitry are being blamed for.

Intermix has every type of slaughtered and skinned animal for sale: Fox fur, rabbit fur, raccoon fur, and even coyote fur. Not only is fur disgustingly cruel, but it is totally unnecessary when there are so many fabulous faux fur options available. As long as shops like Intermix continue to sell fur, the fur industry will thrive, and the senseless killing of fur bearing animal will continue. When the public speaks, the industry listens. If we put pressure on Intermix and express our feelings about their sale of fur, we can make a change. Any shopping at Intermix is supporting this bloody industry, so I encourage everyone to cease shopping at Intermix until they go fur free. Please help the animals by signing our petition and together we can put compassion back in fashion.

Donna Karan's clothing lines proudly boast labels explaining that the pieces include "Chinese rabbit fur." So what exactly does that mean? PETA Asia Pacific's latest undercover investigation reveals the shocking truth: deplorable living conditions, neglect, and filth on Chinese fur farms.

These photos depict the lives—and deaths—of the fur industry's latest fashion victims:

Animals on fur fars deserve freedom

https://secure.peta.org/site/Donation2?df_id=7702&7702.donation=form1&set.custom.Campaign_Code=C12GEAXXXTH&autologin=true

For most Americans, the Fourth of July is a time to celebrate the independence that we won more than two centuries ago by watching parades and sharing outdoor activities with friends and loved ones. But for a huge number of raccoons, rabbits, and other animals who are suffering on fur farms in the United States and around the world, this day is just another one spent confined to a small, filthy cage, waiting for an often violent and painful death at the hands of the global skins trade. Won't you help these animals and all others find the freedom from suffering that they deserve by making a gift to PETA right now?

Whether in China, Norway, or the U.S., the fur industry confines millions of animals to cramped outdoor cages with no escape from the blistering heat or the frigid cold until they are killed in the most terrifying ways imaginable. Undercover investigators from PETA, PETA Asia, PETA Germany, and other groups have witnessed and documented the horrific cruelty. The atrocities on fur farms and at live-animal markets are so chilling that they have shaken up even seasoned investigators. Animals are killed by anal electrocution, bludgeoning, kicking, strangling with wire nooses, and even being skinned alive.

many of the animal victims who are being slaughtered for their fur this Independence Day would look familiar to you: defenseless cats and trusting dogs, such as German shepherds and golden retrievers. These sensitive, intelligent cats and dogs—as loyal as the dear ones we share our homes and lives with—endure almost unimaginable abuse before being painfully killed for their fur. Investigators from PETA Asia and PETA Germany have documented cats and dogs writhing in terror and pain as they are hung up by one leg to have the fur peeled from their flesh. Stripped, bleeding bodies are tossed onto a pile, where some animals' hearts continue to beat for up to five minutes, their breath coming in ragged gasps.

Meanwhile, the other defenseless, caged animals wait in terror, covered with feces and urine—watching and listening as others around them are barbarically killed. I hope reading about the plight of these animals will touch your heart and inspire you to help them and all animals yearning for freedom from suffering and abuse. They are in desperate need of support from compassionate people like you. Your support today will help us organize more demonstrations on the streets, carry out more protests at fashion shows against designers who use fur, work with the media to expose the ugly facts about fur, and do even more to ensure that all animals live free from suffering and neglect. For animals on fur farms, every day should be Independence Day. You can help us make this dream possible for more animals with a generous gift online right now. Thank you for all that you do to keep animals free from abuse.
